In judging another, I condemn myself
"Therefore you have no excuse, everyone of you who passes judgement, for in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. And we know that the judgement of God rightly falls upon those who practice such things. But do you suppose this, O man, when you pass judgement on those who practice such things and do the same yourself, that you will escape the judgement of God?" (Romans 2:1-2
This passage flows from the first chapter of Romans where people are condemned for many evils and prove to have no understanding of God as they worship His creation rather than Him as Creator. But, the theme of this passage could well apply to me in that I judge another for the same sins of which I myself am guilty. In my mind I spend time thinking about the wrongs of others and myself am committing many wrongs against God every minute of the day. As I ponder the sin of a brother or sister, my attitude becomes resentful and ungodly. The people I love the most are affected negatively by my attitude--brethren are not edified and God is not glorified. It could well be said to me..."first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye." (Matt. 7:5)
Lord, cleanse me and make me to see the logs in my eyes--for I'm sure there are many. By Your power alone can the logs be removed and my sight be restored to see your glory in abundance. Please remove the sinful obstructions to my spiritual vision and use me both to edify my brethren and to glorify Yourself.

Psa 19:13 Also keep back Your servant from presumptuous sins; Let them not rule over me; Then I will be blameless, And I shall be acquitted of great transgression.
Psa 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer.
How easy it is to see and point out the sins of others and judge them for it. As we think about our brother and sister's sins may we lift them up in prayer to God rather than dwell on what they are doing. When we turn it around and start praying for them, then we glorify God. So my encouragement is to PRAY! The wonderful power of prayer! For I have said before God does not let us see the sins of others to be judgmental or shrewd but to intercede and help. And if it is something that you are holding against another brother or sister go to them and ask for forgiveness. (I know how hard this is) But when you do i can't describe the freedom over the neg. thoughts and attitude. We just have to keep things in check when they come up. I love you sister! And I will be praying for you.

Again I say praise God for solid sisters like you who will be faithful to pray, slow to judge, and quick to give me Scripture to both reprove and encourage me. I love you too sister and thank you for your prayer and encouragement.
