God's Glory in Suffering
Today was the most amazing day with the Lord. Too amazing to keep to myself! The Lord led me to spend the day ministering to a few ladies by visiting them in the hospital. My friend and Sister in Christ, Jen, was able to come with me. Our intention was to minister to a Sister whom we had briefly met on the evening of Resurrection Day. This Sister requested prayer for her upcoming surgery and gave the most moving testimony of the glory and sovereignty of her Lord. She said that night that she would praise His name whether the outcome of the surgery was good or bad. Her beauty, piety, and genuine adoration for her Christ made a huge impression upon me and several others who were visiting.
I and many others at our church have been praying for her since then and today, Jen and I were blessed with the opportunity to see her face. We walked into the hospital room expecting to see someone who looked weak and showed signs of suffering and pain. Instead, we saw this radiant face and the glory of God. As soon as she opened her mouth, out rolled the praises to the Almighty. Listen...we had church in that hospital room! We were blessed with about 3 hours of the sweetest fellowship and mentoring as she shared her testimonies of God's grace upon her and shared some of her wisdom from years of studying the Word and serving Jesus faithfully. There was a lot of ministering going on...but instead of us ministering to a healing patient--this beautiful woman was ministering to us.
Praise God, the surgery was successful and she is healing very nicely. She's not out of the proverbial "woods" just yet, as there is much more healing to be done. But, her "woods" is filled with the blazing light of Christ and there is no darkness or gloom there. She is acting as a mirror to reflect that blazing light to others. I praise God that He used her to shine some of His light upon me today. What a God we serve! What joy to be His!
