Freedom bought with Blood...

"For He has satisfied the thirsty soul, and the hungry soul He has filled with what is good."(namely Himself!) [Psalm 107:9]

This week God has been showing me through His Word that my freedom from the chains of sin that hold me captive have been broken by the power of Jesus' death and resurrection.  The fact that I continue to follow the sinful urges of my flesh shows my lack of trust in the power of His being raised to life and my lack of focus on His face!  Each time I choose to sin, I prove that my greatest desire is the sinful behavior...not the glory of my Christ!  Grieved is my soul!  Grieved is the Holy Spirit!

"Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness?  But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed, and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness." (Romans 6:16-18)

I'm not a slave to sin anymore...Christ has set me free!  He has purchased my freedom!  The price is paid!  Why do I still continue to return to my sin as a dog to its vomit?

"Wretched man(woman) that I am!  Who will set me free from the body of this death?  Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!  So then, on the one hand I myself with my mind am serving the law of God, but on the other, with my flesh the law of sin. Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." (Romans 7:24-8:1)

May I say....Hallelujah!  Praise God!  Thank you Jesus!  Please grant me repentance, lasting victory that can only be found in Your Blood, and a heart that finds its joy in You and You alone!  Open my mouth that I may praise You!  Lift my eyes that I may see Your glory!
