Praise God for solid sisters!
Today, I have to praise the Lord for the gift of solid sisters in Christ! This weekend was an awesome testimony to the power of the Holy Spirit at work among a group of solid women. We had a great time chewing on the meat of the Word at a women's missions meeting. Then, five of us went to spread the Gospel and give Christmas gifts to the patients at the nursing home in Georgetown. What an awesome blessing to preach the Word to 85 patients. Amazing! We were all so excited we were jumping for joy when we left.
Praise God that He opened our mouths to proclaim His Gospel message in purity. The Holy Spirit took over as we entered the first room and He spoke through us boldly as we poured ourselves out to these men and women. Some were hurting, confused, disinterested and a couple were slightly hostile to the name of Jesus. But many of their eyes brightened and smiles spread across their faces at the mention of His name! Many of them confessed that Jesus was the sustaining power that carried them through various trials and many praised His name in the midst of great physical illness and pain. Praise the Lord for His work in the lives of His people and for the gift of my sisters in Christ!
May hearts be transplanted and souls be saved by the power of the Word of Christ proclaimed by our little group of women. May we always be faithful in season and out to give a reason for the HOPE that lies within us, which is Christ. May we preach the WORD---which is Christ! (so eloquently spoken by Brother William Brown in last night's sermon.)
